Nadia Abdi

Nadia is a clinical psychologist with over 13 years’ experience working with children, adolescents, families and young adults. She takes a warm, collaborative approach to therapy, considering each client’s developmental stage, individual strengths and family context. She is committed to delivering thoughtful, compassionate care, tailored to each individual and family.
Nadia has a special interest in working with young people experiencing anxiety, low mood, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), school refusal and social challenges. She also supports clients through periods of adjustment and change, such as educational transitions, family changes and other life stressors.
Nadia is skilled in supporting a wide range of emotional and behavioural concerns, providing comprehensive evidence-based intervention. Her therapeutic work draws on several approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), attachment-focused interventions and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
Nadia completed her Clinical Masters at the University of Melbourne and brings a wealth of experience from working within educational settings, public hospital-based Child and Youth Mental Health Services and private practice.
Nadia sees clients in our Balmain clinic, Monday to Friday.
